Sadly my childhood dream of piloting the Space Shuttle was never realised, but creating a super-detailed cockpit illustration for London-based Shortlist magazine helped rekindle my wonder for the design and aesthetics of aerospace engineering.

The magazine story by Alex Christian featured descriptions of what it feels like to pilot an F16-C Falcon, the space shuttle Endeavour and a Porsche 919 Hybrid. The illustrations were annotated with information about what all those switches and buttons actually do, so I've attached the magazine pages below.
