I have great memories of visiting Sydney's Powerhouse Museum as a kid, so it was a thrill to work with their exhibition team on this marketing campaign. The concept was to compare the heat generated by a particle collider with the heat of a takeaway cup of coffee, which seemed like the perfect way to promote the exhibition in a coffee-obsessed city like Sydney.
The Large Hadron Collider is the most complex experimental facility ever built and the largest single machine in the world. It also generates particle collisions 15 billion times hotter than coffee, so you definitely wouldn't want to spill them on your jeans.
